Ozone Treatments in Scottsdale
Ozone therapy refers to a special of type of therapy that not only heals but also cleanses the body. Crohn’s disease, autoimmune diseases, colitis, chronic bladder conditions, macular degeneration, chemical sensitivity, chronic fatigue states, herpes, chronic hepatitis, Lyme disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are some of the chronic illnesses that can be treated with this therapy.
WHAT DOES OZONE MEAN?
The air contains a set of two oxygen atoms, which is what we breathe as oxygen. This form of oxygen is colorless and exists in the most stable state. Unlike the normal oxygen consisting of two oxygen atoms, ozone is a set of three oxygen atoms with a blue color, and it is the reason the sky is blue. The “supercharged” nature of ozone, including its great medical properties, is due to the third oxygen atom it contains.
Ozone was first used in the early 1950’s to treat several medical disorders in Germany. At present, it has become a common therapy in Europe, and in the last 25 years, it has been gradually transformed into a prominent type of treatment in America.
ISN’T OZONE HARMFUL?
The fact is that everything, whether oxygen or water, is harmful to the body if taken in excess amounts. The body naturally contains ozone as part of the white cells of the immune system. Over the years, the use of pure medical grade ozone has been found to be very safe when applied in line with appropriate medical guidelines.
THERAPEUTIC FEATURES OF OZONE
There are five features that make ozone effective in treating macular degeneration and many other chronic geriatric conditions. These include:
- Ozone strongly regulates the immune system. What this means is that ozone will calm the immune system down when it is overactive as a result of an auto-immune infection. Likewise, ozone will also simulate the immune system when it is underactive as in the case of AIDS, cancer, and other chronic illnesses. Ozone possesses this special power because of its ability to act on the membranes of white cells and induce them to produce cytokines, which are messenger molecules affiliated with the immune system. TNF-alpha, colony stimulating factor, interleukin-2, and gamma interferon are some examples of cytokines.
- Ozone triggers the secretion of diphosphoglycerate (DPG) to increase oxygen absorption. DPG allows oxygen to be released from the hemoglobin molecule, thus enabling the cell to absorb it. Our cells won’t get enough oxygen when there is an insufficient amount of DPG. Diabetics usually have this problem.
- Ozone helps to boost circulation. It is able to achieve this through its impact in improving the flow attributes of blood as a fluid. As a result, more hemoglobin containing oxygen can be conveyed to the capillaries, enabling the cells to absorb more oxygen. Circulation is often an issue in people with chronic inflammatory disorders.
- Ozone is more effective than vitamin C, or any other therapy, in increasing antioxidant protection. There are little or no antioxidant defenses in majority of people with chronic illnesses.
- Ozone has a strong influence on mitochondrial activity. Low mitochondrial energy production is the root cause of all degenerative disorders, including cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. This problem can often be corrected with ozone.
HOW CAN OZONE BE APPLIED MEDICALLY?
Only professionals with requisite training in the application of ozone therapy are advised to use it.
The most common way of administering ozone, which is usually the most effective, is autotherapy. With the patient sitting in a chair, 6-12 ounces of blood is extracted from their body and placed in a sterilized tube. The tube is then injected with ozone and shaken mildly to allow the white and red blood cells to absorb the ozone. Subsequently, the ozonated blood is transported back to the body. It takes between 30 and 40 minutes to complete the whole procedure.
CAN I USE OZONE THERAPY?
This recommendation can only be given by a doctor who has the experience and competence in applying ozone therapy. Although many conditions can be treated without using ozone, there are some that certainly require the use of ozone. Owing to its numerous medical qualities, ozone can be included in the treatment plan for nearly all ailments.
It is a lifesaver when it comes to treating circulatory disorders and heart disease. Ozone is also very suitable for treating chronic infections like AIDS, Lyme, herpes, and hepatitis-C. Autoimmune diseases, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome can as well be treated with this therapy.
It is, however, necessary to point out that ozone therapy is rarely effective when used alone, it is often a key treatment technique. In most cases, it has to be applied in collaboration with a personalized treatment plan that includes other natural and alternative therapies like detoxification and nutrition.
